I am not an investor, I do not know anything about investing. But I know a sure thing when I see it. Using Robinhood has allowed me to bet on sure things. Maybe about a month ago, I received an Snap from a friend who asked me if I had heard of Robinhood. The pitch was simple, he basically told me Robinhood allows a regular person with a smartphone to buy & sell trades on the stock market for free. No hidden fees, No bullshit. So I downloaded it and got 1 Free Stock of Ford, (when you sign up from someones link you get a free stock), then I went on to purchase some Snap Inc stock. Yes I am betting on Snapchat, and I wish I could've bought more. They are the next big thing and they are selling at 14.35 a share. That to me is just dumb, that company will be worth at least 10x that amount in a year or so. I have since then made other purchases from other companies some winners, some losers. The entire process takes a few minutes to setup, as a user I can only buy or sell at market price, make limit orders, stop loss orders and stop limit orders. I can invest as little as I like, thanks to no minimum and like I said a month ago I had no idea how all this worked. I learned fast using the Robinhood App.
I think the big thing here to realize is that 3 years ago or even 10 years ago you couldn't purchase stock for free without paying a trade fee which is usually $8-$10 a trade. That and a minimum purchase amount. Now I can drop a quick $5 into this app and by a share of Blue Apron, Zynga etc.. Take a look at this breakdown.
Some people around the web think, Robinhood App is a scam or a shady company with bad intentions. To them I say your a bunch of idiots who do not know anything about this new generation and how it thinks about money.
Robinhood isn’t the first brokerage to tout the $0 trade, but it appears to be the first that understands the Millennial mindset. The app may have trouble winning over experienced investors who may be turned off by its stripped down features. However, it could see widespread adoption once funding and platform availability increases. In the meantime, Robinhood will continue to play an important role in the movement toward democratizing markets and making investing more accessible to everyday people.
I definitely see the upside to this app and will continue to use it. If you do decide to download and start your account use my Share Link so you can get a free stock at the time of sign up. This way we both win.
As I move forward in this next chapter in my life I realize some of the things I approached the wrong way. The value of my music has always been an internal struggle I battle with, I think I am starting to understand the value of giving it away and the cost that plagued me for charging.
I am at a place now in my life that I have never been before. I am not rich or poor I am right in the middle and it feels great. I do not have the same worries I had in 2009 when I started Sunsets and Hearts. I am now at a place where I can start giving back what I have taken. I know I said in the past that High Art has a premium. I do realize now that it does but not at a cost I want to pass on to people that love my music. It is a selfish thing to do and for that I am sorry.
Today that starts with releasing the entire Sunsets and Hearts Discography for a low always low price of $8.99 thats a total of 12 albums that I have created since 2009. (Over 100 hours of blood sweat tears and pain to create) Also I should mention $5 of every sale goes to Border Angels who I am a long time supporter of and believe in what they are trying to accomplish.
He who accumulates has little. He who gives away has very much.
Moving forward I will do my best to keep you, the one person that listens and reads my site in my mind with everything I create and release.
First off let me start off by saying the amount of love thrown my way for creating this album has been phenomenal. What started off as just an idea and a little bit of angst has turned into a great experience and a true testament to the punk ethos I have always embraced. So this weekend we are releasing new mech. Introducing, Sunsets and Hearts T-Shirts & Framed Posters with the FUCK TRUMP album cover.
We have sizes for Men: XS S M L XL XXL and Women: S M L XL XXL we are pricing them at $40 also the Fuck Trump Poster Print with included Framed is priced at $50. I know it may seem like a lot but we are only making $14 profit on each item sold and I am fronting all costs before each item is made but its all for a good cause and I believe we can make a difference. I am Donating all of the proceeds to Border Angels who's message speaks to me on so many levels. I am currently a monthly donor with them and look forward to the very near future when I can make it out to San Diego and volunteer as well. So believe me when I say, I would love more than anything to use the money from the sales of FUCK TRUMP merch and put it right back into the hands of people trying to stop what Trump is trying to achieve. It would be a beautiful thing. So please consider purchasing a T-Shirt or Framed Poster for a good cause. I understand if you do not want to purchase a T-Shirt or Poster, but you can still make a difference by donating to Border Angels HERE. Every dollar makes a difference.
I am partnering with Printful to handle Distribution and Printing. So orders will arrive promptly. Gumroad is taking care of the merchant side, I have worked with them before on my past Hi-Def Masters Collection for: Unknown Futures and they are a brand you can trust, especially with payments.
Right now I am offering everyone $4 off per order just by using code: FKTRUMP4
Below you can purchase from the embed Gumroad Store for both items or find them on our Merch Page or Gumroad. Also I should mention if you purchase through Sunsets and Hearts Merch Store you save $2 on shipping. Printful still handles distribution & shipment, I just get a discount when I place the order from my Printful dashboard on my end, long story short, I am passing on the discount to you. Will have them for sale till the end of the year. Also let me know if you have any design ideas, I would be interested in seeing different t-shirt concepts. Thank you so much for reading this far.
Please donate what you can to Border Angels
As you know I am a long time Apple user, so it brings me great joy to say, "Fuck Trump EP" has been released on Apple Music.
Surprisingly enough Apple hid the FUCK with F**k in the title, which I love because they let the album cover speak for itself. So happy they did not blur the album cover, seriously thought they had every right to, its good to see they are all for freedom of speech.
Apple Music has always been my streaming service of choice because of the clean and thoughtful design and large amount of curated playlists they carry. Plus I really enjoy the weekly playlist that are curated with my music library...they always seem to find hidden gems I have not heard.
So got a couple emails this week from longtime listeners asking what my favorite track on the album was, surprisingly enough, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" was my favorite song to make and listen to. Something about this song just grabbed me right away when creating it, felt like a guilty pleasure to write. My Mom even enjoyed this one which is always cool when your Mom digs something you write.
Most of this album was stream of thought at first but quickly turned pen to paper. This one will stick with me for a while, definitely one of the funnest times I had creating an album. Will start working on the original album I was going to release, just had to get this one out of me. Looking to start in November on that one.
Anyways I will talk to yall next time. Enjoy your weekend!!
As promised the Fuck Trump Ep is released today. Had a lot of emotions creating this album. I think not talking about the election or the aftermath for so long definitely created an impact on me. I took the liberty to insert some excerpts from this past year, this will likely cause the album to be pulled around the web. I don't give a fuck, as I have already uploaded to BitTorrent just in case, feel free to do with it what you like as it is no longer my album, now that it is publicly released.
Also interesting enough my website sunsetsandhearts.com is currently down, I do not think this is related but I thought it seemed fit for the occasion of free speech.
I have co-released the album via Bandcamp just in case my site stays down. But I do not foresee that happening. Special thanks to my wife for letting me ignore everyone to create this album. Also thank you (people reading) for still sticking with me all these years.
Big fan of Bitcoin, I was lucky enough to get in early. Watch the below video, Andreas Antonopoulos will explain everything you need to know to get in Bitcoin. He has a couple books I recommend reading that really explain Bitcoin as a technology for future commerce.
I use Keep Key to store the bulk of my coin and use Coinbase & Blockchain as my mobile wallets. Been using Blockchain a lot more to transfer Bitcoin because the fees to send Bitcoin are cents on the dollar.
No time for watching the video then download the Kindle Sample or audible version of Internet of Money, a great book to start off with, he goes into detail what Bitcoin truly is and where he sees it going in 10-15 years.
Been working on a new album for the past year...until recently I changed directions. (Will circle around to that album eventually.)
Releasing the Fuck Trump EP by weeks end. The only voice I have in this world is through my music and it just does not sit right with me anymore to stay on the sidelines and not voice my opinion. This EP is my opinion.
Here is a sneak peek of the first track on the album. Will drop here first. Stay Tuned.

Currently in the process of starting on the next album for Sunsets and Hearts its very possible this could be a full album but I'm hoping I can cut it down to an EP.
Currently have a few songs recorded and a title but very still in the early stages of editing and creating these songs.

"The damage has already been done. People have already moved out and communities displaced. It's over, and now you want to have a conversation about it? This conversation is 10 or 15 years too late. That's not to say that good things can't come out of it, but waiting on the city, I'm just not really part of that game."
The sad truth is most musicians have moved so far south where the price for rent is not as big of a hit. The cool Hispanic rich culture of the East Side is really gone...most of my homeboys and musician friends I have in the neighborhood have moved south...far away from the yuppies that have moved in.
I have come to terms with this and enjoy my South Austin life these days its very much feels like old Austin. Me and my wife are going to be South Austinites for years to come but we are very aware of the increase on our yearly taxes pushing us even further South or into San Antonio in the future.
I am not worried about shit like that though these days I am still trying to work on creating new interesting music and let the real estate condo's build where they want, it's usually in central Austin. I say let them have it...the rich local music scene is mostly gone from there anyway.
The article mentions Stay Gold a struggling music venue on East Cesar Chavez but what they fail to mention is that used to be a tejano bar named El Leon where I, along with my homeboys used to have a blast drinking cheap beer all night listening to Tejano music.
That's the thing about Austin...the people complaining about it are the main reasons this city is the way it is.
Welcome to the Slow Death.
Kubrick & The Illuminati is name of this documentary which brings to light a lot of coincidences that are too overwhelming to set aside to say the least. I am an avid listener to Coast to Coast AM and keep an open mind about everything, that is how I came to find this documentary.
I had know idea Kubrick was having personal problems while making this film which I feel now after re-watching makes a lot more sense. This film deals with the struggle Kubrick had with his daughter Vivian Kubrick, who I had no idea existed until watching this documentary.
Kubrick has inspired so many artists, people and he has legions of fans, his films are taught and dissected in schools and universities. It goes without saying Kubrick will have a lasting impact on generations to come. He truly was a Auteur. If you have never heard of him I recommend checking his films out.
While “Kubrick & The Illuminati” begins with a shot of Michel Ciment, the editor of the journal Positif, it’s Laurent Vachaud’s voice that is heard in most of the film. But Vachaud told ARTINFO that he had nothing to do with the choice of film clips or editing the documentary, and that its directors alone were responsible for it. In fact, he described himself as “opposed to systematically illustrating the idea with the image,” which gives “the impression that everything is put on the same level,” causing the structured argument of his original article to vanish. Vachaud also spoke of the astonishing cinematographic power of “Eyes Wide Shut,” which he sees as “almost as cosmic a film as ‘2001, A Space Odyssey.’”
This was eye opening to watch. The older I get the more I feel like I am becoming more self aware of how much everything I was taught in public school was just plain lies and a rewritten form of history were all just supposed to believe. The sad truth is were supposed to fight through this knowing were playing a fixed hand.
This film was something I needed maybe because I have been away from the whole punk scene since moving to Austin and focusing more on my own music. I do recognize the fact that Green Room helped me remember how amazing it was to be in a punk band.
This film gets so much stuff right from a band perspective; from the inside the van conversations from touring, to getting stiffed at a show, loading gear, etc... and lastly the family bond that is created when starting a band.
I got so amped up when I saw this band go up on stage and had so much affinity for them facing the odds they were facing in the film.
Green Room delivers this and more. The score was amazing and I distinctly remember feeling how that score made you feel when dancing with your friends at a punk show, that is something Jeremy Saulnier captured perfectly and something I have not felt since Victoria.
The horror flick aspect of it was cool and the plot was basic but executed very very well. The actors were great and the ending was very committed, I like that it did not flinch. It was very confident. Everything about this film is fuckin awesome and def worth a watch. Can not wait to see what Jeremy Saulnier does next.
I am releasing Suddenly Cataclysms as a single to generate awareness to the United States/Mexico border situation. I am donating all revenue that is generated from streaming and digital single sales to Border Angels an all volunteer, non profit organization that advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice with a special focus on issues related to the US-Mexican border. Border Angels works to dispel the various myths surrounding immigration in the United States and to bring back truth and justice.
There has been a steady increase in the militarization of the United States/Mexico border, primarily due to the implementation of Operation Gatekeeper. Suddenly Cataclysms is a very personal song I wrote for and about the ongoing struggle with deporting Hispanics back to Mexico from the United States Border.
Many years of devastating economic and immigration policies have created a situation where thousands of people from Mexico and Latin America risk their lives each year crossing into the United States in the hope of finding a better life.
Hispanic families and kids are caught in the middle of this bad situation. Not to mention, the glaring perception that every one believing they are nothing but bad people crossing over. This is not true.
My father crossed the border illegally into the United States to start a better life for himself and to send money he made by working hard, back to his mother and brothers and sisters in Reynosa, Mexico and to this day I am grateful he did that. His whole life he was called names in every job he worked in because he spoke very little English and was an illegal. So he made sure his kids spoke perfect English so they would not have to be humiliated like he was.
Real human beings are who we all are, regardless of race/religion/color or nationality were all humans who are trying to better themselves for their families.
All Proceeds for this Single will go to Border Angels to Save lives and Make a difference.
Please donate what you can to Border Angels

Was so sad to hear about Crystal Castles breaking up but when I read it was because "Years ago I began the process of trying to remove myself from an abusive relationship that started when I was a teenager." I quickly understood that Ethan Kath (Crystal Castles) was the asshole she was talking about and was extremely happy for her.
I have listened to the new Crystal Castles stuff it is shit and what Alice Glass is creating is far more SUPERIOR on EVERY LEVEL. She has an Amazing Voice and I have always thought her Vocals were always too low in the mix on Crystal Castles records. Its great to hear Lars Stalfors put her front and center in the mix. This sounds amazing so looking forward to this Album. Her new song Stillborn is pushing fucking boundaries with its message and sound. Love it! Be on the look out Alice is creating a new sound with Jupiter Keyes.
