Green Room Review From a Musician's Perspective.
This film was something I needed maybe because I have been away from the whole punk scene since moving to Austin and focusing more on my own music. I do recognize the fact that Green Room helped me remember how amazing it was to be in a punk band.
This film gets so much stuff right from a band perspective; from the inside the van conversations from touring, to getting stiffed at a show, loading gear, etc... and lastly the family bond that is created when starting a band.
I got so amped up when I saw this band go up on stage and had so much affinity for them facing the odds they were facing in the film.
Green Room delivers this and more. The score was amazing and I distinctly remember feeling how that score made you feel when dancing with your friends at a punk show, that is something Jeremy Saulnier captured perfectly and something I have not felt since Victoria.
The horror flick aspect of it was cool and the plot was basic but executed very very well. The actors were great and the ending was very committed, I like that it did not flinch. It was very confident. Everything about this film is fuckin awesome and def worth a watch. Can not wait to see what Jeremy Saulnier does next.
