Introducing a Sunsets and Hearts Subscription
I love creating for Sunsets and Hearts. I’ve been doing it for 7 years now, and I want to keep doing it for the rest of my life.
This is also the year I'm getting married to my best friend. (Feb. 19th) It's scary and exciting all at once for a multitude of reasons but I'm really hopeful for the future these days.
My Journal Blog is something new I've been trying to do lately and it seems to be working. This year so far, readership is up and I'm seeing more traffic to the site than ever before. Also I feel my music is going into a very different direction then my past albums and has enough headroom to keep growing into some really interesting places. 10 albums in I'm still feeling it when I'm creating these days and ideas are always being worked on in my sleep and in my waking life, always rearranging compositions in my head and jotting notes.
Yet a big chunk of my work week is devoted to my day job. Any extra free time I have is used on creating music for albums and content for this site. My main goal is to do this full time and make a living doing it in the very near future.
It might be a surprise for you to believe that music was not my first creative endeavor. Nope it was creating Art. I used to paint and draw from a very young age up until I got involved with music in my late teens. I was talented and recruited to attend an Art Program as a kid but my family just couldn't afford it. I really loved creating with a brush and a pencil for a very long time but there was something about music that just spoke to me in million different other ways.
I had discovered sound was far more cleansing and pure. Sound was an infinite palette that I could create on top of each other without it muddying under its own weight. It was the first thing that had ever challenged me and something I took seriously and been passionate about ever since. I just want to get to the point where I can devote more time to my passion.
So today, I’m introducing a Sunsets and Hearts Subscription. This is a way for you to support my passion, on a monthly basis.
The prices are really inexpensive. A monthly subscription costs $3
But while subscribing to Sunsets and Hearts will undoubtedly generate great karma for you, I don’t want this appeal to be based just on those intangible elements. If you are going to spend your own hard-earned money to support the site, you should get something special in return. That’s why Sunsets and Hearts subscriptions will have Extras.
A subscription of $3/month. Gets you:
- A Handwritten Postcard from Austin, TX + A Little Something from Austin Gift Company.
- 3 to 5 unreleased songs per year. + Access to All Previous Unreleased Songs. (via a secret DropBox folder, here's a sample folder)
- The Satisfaction of Supporting a Passionate Independent Content Creator.
- Exclusive Early Access to Every New Album!
- Free Advice/Thoughts on Music Production, Future Concepts & Life's Biggest Mysteries. (I'm all ears drop me an email or we can Skype)
- Anything Extra I Come Up With I Will Send Your Way I Promise! (will keep adding to this list as time goes on)
Now, as for the actual site, there’s not gonna be a paywall. The primary goal of sunsetsandhearts.com is to remain to be a freely readable and listenable site that contains lots of great music and interesting reviews, with topics and commentary about technologies and the music culture from the perspective of a first generation mexican american musician in one of the most thriving city's in the world, Austin, TX. Subscribing is entirely voluntary and should be done because you want to support me and get some cool extras. I want readership/listenership to keep growing and to enable me to keep posting great material for everyone to read and listen to.
If you want to think about this and subscribe later, no problemo — you’ll always find all the details on the subscription page.
Thanks for your consideration! I hope to keep filling your ears and eyeballs with good stuff for years to come!
